Have you ever walked into ULTA and thought to yourself, “Where do I even begin”? ULTA has almost 950 square feet of makeup, skincare, and haircare products. For many who are visiting the popular beauty chain store for the first time don’t always know where to begin. What’s great about the store is that they offer both high-end and drugstore makeup.
The goal of this article is to provide some product recommendations after finding some amazing beauty products at super affordable prices. Everything is under $10!
Eye Makeup Under $7
Let’s start with the eyes! There are two palettes that are worth checking out. First is the Chocolate Nudes Eyeshadow Palette in Choc’Let It Be 010 from Catrice ($3.49). This is a great neutral palette for anyone getting started with makeup. It’s not insanely pigmented like higher end brands, but at the price, it’s still great. The shadows go on smoothly, blend easily, and with a primer, they’ll last throughout the day. I really like the subtle look of the shadows, and it seems like it almost gives you the “no makeup” makeup look.
If you’ve been watching YouTube beauty videos for a long time you may know that the Walking on Eggshells eyeshadow trio from Wet ‘N Wild ($2.93) is a cult classic. After finally picking up the palette at Wal-Mart, I can definitely see why. The shadows are insanely pigmented, blend like a dream, and just gives me the perfect everyday look.
Affordable Blush That Packs a Punch
Finding great blushes at the drugstore can be a bit tricky, but there’s one that you should definitely get! The Essence Satin Touch Blush in 20 Satin Love ($2.99) is absolutely beautiful! It’s the perfect every day blush that gives my cheeks some nice color. It’s easy to work with, has nice pigmentation, and doesn’t wear off easily. This blush is so great that you can’t help but think that there has to be something wrong with it. A blush this high in quality can’t possibly be this affordable… but it is!
Great Brows at a Low Price
I’m a huge fan of brow products. Mainly because I have barely there brows that I’m trying to grow out. I’ve heard great things about the NYC Kohl Brow / Eyeliner Pencil ($.99). I picked up the shade taupe since that matches my brows the best. However, if it didn’t work as a brow pencil, I’d use it as a liner. The pencil is great if you have a lot of brows and just have a small amount of space to fill in. The pencil has a sharp point so it’s hard to create a natural look with that. It typically comes off as strong, and drawn on. It’s still a great product if you need to fill in a few areas.
Affordable Lip Products
I’m a lip junkie. I’ll be the first to admit th, of course, ourse I had to go out and try to find the best drugstore lip products and hope they’re the most affordable. First up is a lip care. The Catrice Vitamin Lip Treatment in 040 Born to Be Wild-Berry ($4.99) is really nice. It has a familiar scent that I can’t pinpoint and it’s bothering me. It’s not crazy strong. I’m sensitive to scents and this lip treatment didn’t bother me. I use this at night before I go to bed and in the morning my lips feel great!
Rimmel’s Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Stay On Lip Liner Pencils are popular in the YouTube and blogging world so I had to finally give one a try. I picked up 009 Mauve Shimmer because I know it would work great with a couple lipsticks and glosses. What I love about this liner, other than the fact that it’s crazy pigmented and super smooth, is that I can wear it on its own and it stays put. I like when products give me options like this.
NYX Turn It Up Lipsticks ($5.99) are amazing quality at affordable drugstore makeup prices. I picked up the shade Flutter Kisses because I saw on Pinterest that it was a dupe for a Viva Glam lipstick from MAC. This is going to be my go-to lipstick for the fall. It’s stunning! It’s nicely pigmented, doesn’t pull at my lips when I apply it, lasts a good couple of hours, and it doesn’t dry out my lips. It’s everything that I look for and pay in higher end lipsticks. This lipstick, however, is a fraction of the cost.
The las lip product is a Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain from Jordana ($2.99, Walgreen’s). I remember a few years back when these balms were all the rage, but I never got into them. But at this price point, I wanted to give the Jordana balm stains a shot. I went a little outside my comfort zone and picked up 01 Nude Chic. It’s a nude shade, but definitely a wearable one on me. I can throw this on, without a mirror, and not have to worry about it. It’s a no fuss lip balm and I absolutely love it!
Finding high-quality makeup at the drugstore is a great feeling. I love high end makeup, and I’ve always been a believer in you get what you pay for. Things are changing! You really can find quality beauty products at affordable prices at ULTA, Wal-Mart, Target, and Meijer. With coupons and buy one get one half off sales, you can save even more money!
