As you may know, the month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, an annual campaign that’s goal is to spread awareness of the disease. Major charities increase awareness during the month of October to raise funds for research into the cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure. It also offers support and information the those affected by breast cancer.
I won’t go into much detail, but last August my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, and while she’s cancer free it’s still hard to wrap your head around. Having cancer is not an easy thing for many people, my mom included, to go through. This was a cause that every year I’ve always tried to make a donation to. One of the ways you can make a donation is by purchasing products that are pink, and wouldn’t normally be. You will also see the pink ribbon on the top of the packaging. When you see that a portion of the proceeds goes to breast cancer awareness.
Here is a look at some of the brands releasing special edition products for the month of October to help fight breast cancer.
If you need to get new or refill your current moisturizer, Clinique has their Great Skin, Great Cause Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ ($38). The 6.7 oz bottle of their popular moisturizer includes a beautiful keychain featuring different colors of the breast cancer awareness ribbon. For as long as I’ve been writing about beauty online, Clinique has offered this special edition bottle during the month of October.
Another brand always taking part in spreading awareness in Bobbi Brown. She’s released her Pink Peony Illuminating Bronzing Powder Set ($55). This includes a beautiful pink blush and mini brush with a pink handle. This is a great shade that will work on most skin types, and definitely worth picking up if you’re a fan of her products.
If you love lipstick, head down to your local Cosmetics counter and take a look at their Rouge Rouge Lipstick ($28). For the 10th year the popular beauty brand is partnering with Cancer and Careers to harness the Powder of Pink in Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Every purchase of Rouge Rouge in Murrey, Burning Up, or Crime of Passion, Shiseido will donate $5 to Cancer and Careers.
