Can Your DNA Find Your Skin Care Products?

Can you really find the perfect skin care products using your DNA? That’s the million dollar question! I have the amazing opportunity to try something that could be ground breaking. I’m testing out the HomeDNA Collection Kit; using the Skin Care Analysis + Report. You’re using your genetics to unlock your skin’s potential. It’s an amazing concept!

Here’s how this works. This is a DNA analysis and report that examines your unique genetic markers to provide personalized skin care recommendations. You’re going to learn about ingredients, nutrients, and treatments that could help you achieve beautiful looking skin.

When you order the kit ($99 lab fee), you’ll get a custom report based off your DNA. The report will include:

  • Fine Lines & Wrinkles
  • Collagen Quality
  • Skin Sensitivity
  • Pigmentation
  • Sun Protection
  • Skin Elasticity
  • Skin Antioxidents

They’ll use insights from your genetic information to take better care of your skin every day. It will also help you choose the skin care products that you should purchase.

Getting Started

So how do you get started? Shop online for the kit that you want to get. The Skin Care Analysis + Report Kit is $99 or you can find one at a store near you. When the kit arrives follow the instructions to register and how to do the cheek swabs for DNA collection. Included is a postage-paid envelope for returning samples to the lab. According to the website, it’s just three weeks from receipt of samples at the lab.

This kit will be available September 2017 in California and Massachusetts. Due to state regulations, this is currently not available in New York and Maryland.

I’ll be back to share the results and skincare recommendations, and whether or not the products improved my skin.

It’s an interesting concept. I like the thought of it but don’t know if I would shell out 99 bucks for it.
