Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation

When it comes to makeup I always enjoy trying new products and brands. When Charlotte Tilbury released her new Magic Foundation my ears perked up… magic? What kind of magic is in this foundation? Yes, I realize there’s no magic to foundation, but the name caught my eye and I knew I had to try it out.

So this foundation provides you with flawless long-lasting covering, and as a built-in sunscreen with SPF 15 in it. It’s 1 fl oz and retails for $44 at Nordstrom. I was matched in the shade 2 Fair, which is really shocking to me. I’m not dark by any means, but I don’t, or at least never, consider myself fair.

This is a fuller coverage foundation, which I’m not typical fond of. My skin doesn’t seem to react kindly to full cover foundation from any brand. Even so, I had to test this out. The coverage is amazing and covered up the few imperfections that I have on my face. Concealer was still needed, but not that much. Even though it’s a full coverage foundation, it didn’t feel that way on my face. I feel like my skin can still breathe through it and it looked natural. This is exactly what I’m looking for in a foundation!

The Magic Foundation had your typical foundation smell. Nothing bad or overpowering, so if you are sensitive to scents like I am than you should be okay. I do like how my skin looked, but the shade was wrong on me. With a good primer the foundation did last an entire work day, eight our nine hours. I did use my MAC Blot Powder Pressed to help with any shine since my skin does get oilier during the summer months.

The bottle is absolutely gorgeous and you know I’m a sucker for nice packaging. With Charlotte Tilbury I feel like you’re getting a quality product in amazing packaging. With some brands you’re paying for the name or the packaging more so than the product. With her makeup line it’s not like that. You can have the stylish, luxury packaging and a high quality product.

The price of the foundation is up there with just about every foundation at Nordstrom. They have an amazing return policy, and they’re great at giving out samples. The next time you’re doing your makeup shopping there I highly recommend checking out her counter. You can always get a sample to test it out before buying it.This foundation may not be magic, but it’s made my skin look pretty close to flawless!
