The Makeup Show Chicago Recap

Revel Fulton Market hosts the Makeup Show Chicago

The Makeup Show Chicago returned this week at its newest location, the Revel Fulton Market. The new location was a much better option than last year as it provided more space to walk around, even with the crazy long lines.

The pro-only event featured top names in industry offering tips on how to break into the industry, and different classes to learn and grow as a makeup artist. While there, makeup artists, students, and educators has the opportunity to take advantage of the biggest deals of brands like, NARS, Kat Von D, MAC, MAKE UP FOR EVER, Smashbox, INGLOT, and much more.

First up was the Blogger preview event at 9am. I always look forward to this because I love hearing James Vincent talk about his career, the guest speakers, and just the industry in general. You can tell how much he loves what he does, and he’s always just inspiring. The gift bag was INSANE, I couldn’t believe the items they gave up and I’m so grateful and excited to dig into the products and review them.

With the larger crowds, meant the popular items selling out within an hour or two. Which is good news for my wallet since I only picked up a few things that I knew I had to have. Even with the crazy lines, and everything selling out, the Makeup Show is one of the best beauty shows that I’ve been to. Standing in line you chat with makeup artists giving their opinions on brands and offering up tips. You also get the chance to talk to the people being these brands to learn about their products and how I can easily improve my makeup skills and take less time getting ready. If I could go from an hour to about 20 minutes, I’ll be one happy person.

If you’re a makeup artist or student I highly recommend checking out The Makeup Show Chicago next year. It’s an amazing event where you’re going to learn a lot and make some amazing connections. Not to mention you have so many beauty brands in one room where they’re offering huge discounts. I’m talking bigger discounts than the Sephora VIB Rouge sale.

If you’ve been to the Makeup Show let me know your thoughts on the event!
