A couple weeks ago was the annual SEPHORA VIB Sale where VIB ROUGE and VIB members received a 15 percent off discount, and BI members received 10 percent off. Normally I don’t buy that much during this sale, I wait for the 20 percent off sale in November, but there were quite a few things I wanted to get and I had a bunch of store credit and gift cards waiting to get used.
While many people aren’t happy with just 15 percent off, considering how much you spend to get to ROUGE Status, any discount is better than nothing to me. I went to SEPHORA three times during the sale to get these items, so I’m not sure when I purchased what. So how crazy did I go during the week-long sale?
Even though I picked up the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara when it was half off during ULTA’s 21 Days of Beauty, I couldn’t help pick up the mascara in the special unicorn packaging. It’s one of my favorite mascaras so I know it won’t go to waste.
I picked up three items in the miniature size so I can try them out. First is the IT Cosmetisc Your Skin by Better CC+ in the shade light. I hope this works since medium seemed way too dark. You get a decent amount (.406 fl oz), but I’m hoping this lasts through the summer. I tried the Cover FX Illuminating Spray at a SEPHORA event that I was at and really liked, and Tati also raved about this, so I had to get it. I did the small 1.0 fl oz since a little goes a long way. Lastly is the travel size NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard Medium 1 (.05 fl oz). My reasoning for this is mainly that I’m trying it out and it’s just for my under eye area. I’ll get a lot of use out of it and if I really love it, I’ll get the full size when the sale rolls around again in November.
Everything else I purchased were lip products. The first thing I really needed to get was a lip scrub. When I was testing out the glosses I picked up, the wonderful woman at SEPHORA used the BITE Beauty AGAVE lip scrub. It was really nice and the glosses applied even better than normal. So you know I had to pick that up.
I bought three Marc Jacobs Enamored high-shine lip lacquers in 302 Allow Me, 308 Rebel Rebel, and 330 Hey You.I loved how these apply and feel on the lips. Some have a nice shimmer to it, and one is a regular gloss without shimmer. They last a good couple hours, have just a little bit of stickiness to it, which I really like, and smells great. They’re pricey, but well worth the money spent if you love gloss as much as I do.
From Hourglass I picked up two of the new Girl Lip Stylo in the shades Activist and LIberator. When I was at the same SEPHORA event she used Activist on my lips and I love it. It was sort of a my lips but better jumbo lip pencil. Liberator is a gorgeous mauve that’s great for everyday wear. I love these! They’re so moisturizing, nicely pigmented, and just glide on my lips. I’d say I could wear these a good two to three hours before I have to reapply. The packaging is absolutely stunning, so luxurious looking. These are definitely worth getting if you don’t mind the price tag.
Lastly, is my first liquid lipstick. I went with the Smashbox Be Legendary Liquid Pigment in Mauve Wife. I haven’t worn this yet, but the color is stunning! The perfect every day color that will be flattering on every skin tone and I can’t wait to test it out!
I did also get a bunch of skincare samples to test out as well as four 100-point perks. I went with the DrybarTriple Sec 3-IN-1, the BEcca highlighter in Opal, the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer in Med / Deep matte bronzer, and the Clinique Pep-Start Hydrorush Moisturizer.
Overall, I’m so happy with everything that I picked up and can’t wait to really dig into the skincare items and the lip scrub to see how it well it works. I’m already making my wish list for the November sale. The life of a beauty junkie!
